The Pirates on the Run 5K/10K and Kids’ Runs are almost here! The 5K/10K will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 with a new starting point at St. Peter's Church (801 Atlantic Ave.), finishing at Central Park.

We had to stay closed for one extra day! Right now we're putting the finishing touches on the Karibrew!!!

It's the Worked Over, our famous marinara sandwich with cheese, onions, peppers and sausage served over a fresh ciabatta roll. The soup of the day will be Chicken and Rice yummy :)

Café Karibo & Friends hosted a free beginner surfing and water safety clinic. It was held on Saturday, July 12th 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Location: Beach Access# 31 "The Pier" One Block South of Simmons Road, Fernandina Beach.

Thank you to everyone that joined us for a day of surf and sun at the Pier. Some of the Island’s best surfers, including Sean Poynter, were on the beach teaching board riding, surfing etiquette and water safety.

Drinks and Snacks were provided by Café Karibo. All ages were welcome. Children 12 and under had to be accompanied by an adult.

Cafe Karibo is located on North 3rd St. just off Centre Street in the historic downtown district. It has a cozy interior with a funky, laid-back setting. It's most striking feature is its naturally shaded outdoor dining patio. Great selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups for lunch. Tasty nightly fresh fish specials, theme nights (Wed: pad thai, Thur: curry), and live music in the patio most Friday and Saturday nights. Kid friendly and has vegetarian items on the menu. Open: 11- 9 Tue thru Sat; Sunday Brunch 10:30-2; Mon 11-3. Fresh-brewed beer available in the Cafe and also in the brew pub, The Karibrew, located next door. Food prices are relatively low- lunch average $10 pp/ dinner $20 pp (generous portions).
